I address the people of God who today are holding fast their confidence, who will not depart from the faith once delivered unto the saints, who stand amid the moral darkness of these days of corruption. The word of the Lord to you is: “I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in My people.” Can we not here see the paternal love of God expressed to those who hold fast to the faith in righteousness? The closest relationship exists between God and His people. Not only are we objects of His sparing mercy, His pardoning love; we are more than this. The Lord rejoices over His people. He delights in them. He is their surety. He will beautify all who are serving Him with a whole heart with the spirit of holiness. He clothes them with righteousness. He loves those who do His will, who express His image. All who are true and faithful are conformed to the image of His Son. In their mouth is found no guile, for they are without fault before the throne of God. {TM 414.3} Our Message . [Special Testimonies, Series A 11:18-20 (1898).]What is the message that we are to give? “Ho, everyone that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto Me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Incline your ear, and come unto Me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people. Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the Lord thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for He hath glorified thee. Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near: let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” {TM 415.1}

Guds sendebud

Jeg henvender mig til Guds folk som i dag holder fast ved den tillid de har fået, som ikke vil forlade den tro der engang er overgivet de hellige og som står midt iblandt disse sidste fordærvede dages moralske mørke. Herrens ord til jer er: »Jeg skal juble over Jerusalem og frydes ved mit folk.« Kan vi ikke her se Guds faderlige kærlighed komme til udtryk for dem som holder fast i retfærdighedens tro? Det tætteste forhold eksister mellem Gud og hans folk. Vi er ikke kun genstand for hans sparsomme barmhjertighed og hans tilgivende kærlighed, vi er mere end det. Herren glædes over sit folk. Han fryder sig ved dem. Han er deres sikkerhed. Han vil forskønne alle som tjener ham med et helt hjerte med (415) hellighedens ånd. Han klæder dem med retfærdighed. Han elsker dem som gør hans vilje, som udtrykker hans billede. Alle som er sande og trofaste er tilpasset hans Søns billede. I deres mund findes ingen svig, for de er uden fejl foran Guds trone.
