You must not allow your sympathies for yourselves to shield you and others in wrong because you see nothing in outward appearances to condemn. God sees; He can read the motives and purposes of the soul. I entreat you in the name of our Master, who has called us and appointed us our work, to keep your hands off and leave us to do the work that God has laid upon us. Keep your words of sympathy and pity for those who really deserve them, those who are pressed by the Spirit of God to show His people their transgressions and the house of Israel their sins. Error and sin in these last days are embraced more readily than truth and righteousness. The soldiers of the cross of Christ are now required to gird on the Christian armor and to press back the moral darkness that is flooding the world. {3T 325.1}

Du må ikke lade din sympati for dig selv forsvare dig og andre for det forkerte fordi du ikke ser noget i det ydre der skal fordømmes. Gud ser det; han kan læse sjælens motiver og hensigter. Jeg bønfalder dig i vor Mesters navn, som har kaldt os og udpeget os vort arbejde, at holde dine hænder borte og lade os gøre det arbejde som Gud har pålagt os.
