“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? for ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? »Eller ved I ikke, at jeres legeme er et tempel for Helligånden, som er i jer og som I har fra Gud og at I ikke tilhører jer selv? I er jo købt og prisen betalt; ær derfor Gud i jeres legeme!« »Ved I ikke, at I er Guds tempel og Guds Ånd bor i jer? Hvis nogen ødelægger Guds (373) tempel, skal Gud ødelægge ham; thi Guds tempel er helligt og I er jo hans tempel!« »Træk ikke i ulige åg med de vantro, thi hvad har retfærdighed og lovløshed med hinanden at skaffe? eller hvad fællesskab er der mellem lys og mørke? hvordan kan Kristus stemme overens med Beliar? eller hvordan kan den troende have lod og del med den vantro? hvordan kan Guds tempel og afguder have med hinanden at gøre? Vi er jo den levende Guds tempel, thi Gud har sagt: »Jeg vil bo og vandre iblandt dem og være deres Gud og de skal være mit folk.« Derfor: »Drag bort fra dem og skil jer ud, siger Herren, Og »rør ej noget urent, så vil jeg tage imod jer og være jer en Fader og I skal være mine sønner og døtre, siger Herren, den Almægtige.«
