I saw that God had children who do not see and keep the Sabbath. They have not rejected the light upon it. And at the commencement of the time of trouble, we were filled with the Holy Ghost as we went forth and proclaimed the Sabbath more fully. This enraged the churches and nominal Adventists, as they could not refute the Sabbath truth. And at this time God’s chosen all saw clearly that we had the truth, and they came out and endured the persecution with us. I saw the sword, famine, pestilence, and great confusion in the land. The wicked thought that we had brought the judgments upon them, and they rose up and took counsel to rid the earth of us, thinking that then the evil would be stayed. {LS 101.2}

Jeg så at Gud havde børn som ikke ser og holder sabbaten. De har ikke forkastet lyset over den. Og ved begyndelsen af trængselstiden, blev vi fyldt med Helligånden idet vi gik ud og proklamere sabbaten mere fuldt ud. Dette arrangrede menighederne og bekendende adventister, som de ikke kunne modbevise sabbatssandheden. Og på dette (102) tidspunkt så Guds udvalgte helt klart at vi havde sandheden, og de kom ud og udholdt forfølgelse sammen med os. Jeg så sværd, hungersnød, pest og stor forvirring i landet. De onde mente at vi havde bragt domme over dem, og de rejste sig op og rådførte sig for at befri jorden for os, og troede da det det onde vil blive forhindret.
