Thus pleads the advocate of truth; faithful among the faithless, loyal and true among the disloyal and disobedient, he stands as God’s representative, and his words are as a voice from Heaven. There is no trace of fear, sadness, or discouragement in countenance or manner. Strong in his conscious innocence, clothed with the panoply of truth, he rejoices that he is a son of God. His words are like a shout of victory above the roar of the battle. The cause of truth to which he has devoted his life, he makes appear as the only cause that can never fail. Though he may perish for the truth’s sake, the gospel will not perish. God lives, and the truth will triumph. {LP 314.2}

Sådan går sandhedens forsvarer i forbøn; trofast iblandt troløse, loyale og sande iblandt illoyale og ulydige, står han som Guds repræsentanter, og hans ord er som en røst fra himlen. Der er intet spor af frygt, bedrøvelse eller modløshed i ansigtsudtrykket eller i optræden. Stærk i sin samvittighedsfulde uskyld, iklædt sandhedens fulde rustning, glæder han sig over at han er Guds søn. Hans ord er ligesom et sejrsråb over slagets larm. Sandhedens sag, som han har helliget sit liv for, viser han som sin eneste årsag til at der aldrig sker svigt. Selvom han går til for sandhedens skyld, vil evangeliet ikke gå til. Gud lever, og sandheden vil sejre.
